Established in 2017 by two Dutchmen with a shared passion for horology, Maen has gone on to introduce a wide selection of vintage-inspired, sporty and tool-orientated watches, all with New York-themed names. Expanding the range is the Classic line, a series of dress watches with sleek, elegant designs aimed to elevate your style.
The soul of the Maen Lunar Classic lies in its sophisticated multilayered dial, showcasing a variety of finishes and applied hour markers that are faceted and polished. These rest on a coin edge-inspired ring, framed by a chapter ring along the dial’s perimeter. The moonphase display at 6 o’clock features a sandblasted texture for added contrasts. Maen offers the Lunar Classic in several elegant colour options.
Maen’s very first release featured a moonphase, now making a return in the current Lunar Classic lineup. This revival pays tribute not only to the brand’s name, but also to the historic transatlantic journey that inspired it. Made by the Dutch ship De Halve Maen (The Half Moon), the vessel reached New York in 1609. The Lunar Classic models are presented in a compact 36mm stainless steel case, accentuated by bold lugs with satin-brushed surfaces.

Powering the Lunar Classic is the Élaboré grade Sellita SW280-1, a beautifully finished movement with a reliable 40-hour power reserve, up for display through the sapphire exhibition caseback. Paired with the brand’s all-new flat-link bracelet that tapers elegantly from the case (rubber strap options are available), the Lunar Classic also boasts a 50m water resistance rating to ensure practical flexibility.
Nothing extra, everything right
For a more restrained expression of the design, Maen also offers models without the moonphase complication. Maintaining the essence of the Lunar Classic, these versions feature a minimalist fumé dial in Deep Green or Blue, and draw power from an Élaboré grade Sellita SW200-1 movement instead.
