Developed in close collaboration with the French Navy’s EOD Divers Association, the Serica 5303 PLD PLONGEURS DÉMINEURS is a mechanical diving chronometer designed to meet the demanding standards of underwater explosive ordnance disposal experts.
This limited-edition model — with only 350 pieces available to civilians — combines military-grade performance with refined materials, making it a truly versatile and collectible timepiece.
At the heart of the 5303 PLD is the SoProd M100 automatic movement, adjusted to COSC chronometer standards. In a profession where magnetic interference could prove fatal, the new “Amagnetic Chronometer” dial marking reflects the serious consideration for safety — no electronics, no batteries, just pure mechanical reliability.
The watch retains the rugged charm of the original 5303 Diving Chronometer, but introduces a number of upgrades tailored for professional use. The new ‘DT MAX’ ceramic bezel is graduated in both meters and minutes, enabling divers to track their maximum working time at a given depth without requiring decompression stops — a feature rooted in decades of operational habit within the French Navy.
Visually, the 5303 PLD is just as refined. The ceramic dial debuts a striking new Abyssal Blue tone, deepened with subtle shades of grey and green — an elegant homage to France's maritime legacy. The newly designed ‘Fat Lollipop’ second hand, with its enlarged luminous marker, provides an ultra-clear visual cue for dive timing, even in the most demanding conditions.
Crafted in 39mm 316L stainless steel, the case is water-resistant to 300 metres (30 bar) and features compact, ergonomic dimensions suited to both land and sea. The domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating ensures optimal legibility in all lighting conditions.
Each 5303 PLD ships with two strap options: Serica’s signature steel bracelet, and the all-new ‘PLD’ webbing strap, available in Historic Green or Louise Blue. Inspired by the straps worn by French divers in the 1970s, these new versions feature signed buckles and a polished-satin finish for enhanced comfort and durability.
This special edition is limited to 500 units in total: 150 pieces reserved for active-duty French EOD divers and members of the Amicale, and 350 civilian models available exclusively online and through select partners.

RETURNS & EXCHANGES
Your item can be returned within 14 days after purchase for any reason for a full refund. Return requests can be initiated through the self-serve form at the bottom of our Refunds and Exchanges page. Once your request is received, our team will contact you to arrange the return of your watch. Returned items must be unused and in their original packaging. We reserve the right to refuse a return if the product(s) show signs of wear.
WARRANTY
Every Serica watch comes with an international manufacturer’s warranty of two years.
Serica's warranty covers all manufacturing defects occurring during normal use, as described in their warranty conditions. Serica will replace free of charge any defective components due to a manufacturing error found by their workshop.
Please note Serica's warranty is not applicable in the following cases:
- Theft, loss.
- Wear and tear and normal ageing of the watch (scratched glass, impact on the case...)
- All types of damage to the entire watch (or part of it) resulting from improper handling or use, lack of maintenance, negligence, accident (drop, scratch, crush, broken glass, etc.), improper use of the watch or failure to follow the instructions provided.
- All types of damage indirectly related or consequential to normal wear and tear of the watch, such as non-functioning, defects or inaccuracies of the watch.
This warranty is void if the watch has been damaged by accident, negligence of persons other than authorised Serica sales or services agents, unauthorised service, or other factors not due to defects in materials or workmanship.
The warranty is void if the serial numbers or product date codes or other tracking marks have been removed, altered or obliterated.
