For Straum’s nature-loving founders, inspiration struck far from the ordinary. A trip to Jan Mayen, one of Norway’s most remote islands, sparked the idea for a watch collection unlike any other. Dominated by Beerenberg, the world’s northernmost active volcano, the island is scattered with rugged basalt rock, formed as molten lava cools and traps pockets of gas while solidifying. This striking natural texture has made its way into the Jan Mayen models, which are housed in a balanced 38.7mm stainless steel case with an 11.5mm profile.
