Tomella envisioned the first Gaga Laboratorio models as visual illusions that merely suggest a complication while the mechanical component is missing. Entrusted with translating that ambition into form, Coppoletta achieved it masterfully through design alone. Created to resonate with wearers beyond function, the series establishes a distinctive design language from the get-go, one that signals both creativity and mechanical credibility.

The Labormatic marks Gaga Laboratorio’s debut, and it makes an instant impression. Its striking dial gives off mid-19th century decorative architecture vibes, featuring several distinct sectors. Adding to its intrigue, the hour is displayed via an aperture at 12 o’clock, reshaping the way time is read. The minutes are indicated on the inner rotating minute disc by a lollipop pointer on select modes, or an instrument-like frame on others.
Power in plain sight
Framed in a 42mm stainless steel case, the Labormatic makes a bold architectural statement, its flared lugs echoing the highly expressive spirit of Gaga Milan. Inside, Swiss precision takes centre stage with a La Joux-Perret G100 movement powering the designs and offering a generous 68-hour reserve. The calibre’s intricate workings are visible through a sapphire display back.
