MAEN
The rise of independent watchmakers has revitalised the horological landscape in recent years, injecting fresh energy. Among these rising stars is Maen, a Sweden-based brand founded by two Dutch watch enthusiasts who met abroad and set out to create distinctive timepieces inspired by the glorious past but made for today’s modern wearer.

MAEN
A Transatlantic take on timekeeping
Maen blends Scandinavian rigour with the Swiss-style commitment to precision, resulting in watches defined by clean design and solid mechanical underpinnings. Each collection draws its name from a part of New York, whether the ever-present Hudson river or the bustling Brooklyn neighbourhood, offering a modern aesthetic that still carries a whisper of vintage soul.
The brand takes its name from the archaic Dutch spelling for “moon”, the celestial constant that has shaped humanity’s understanding of time since the very beginning. Since its founding in 2017, Maen has steadily built a portfolio that resists industry trends, favouring restrained case sizes that rarely exceed 40mm. The brand offers a range that is varied as it is cohesive, covering sporty pieces, aviation/racing-inspired instruments, as well as elegant dressy pieces.
MAEN HIGHLIGHTS
Starting with the moon
Fittingly, Maen’s very first release was a moonphase watch, a direct nod to the brand’s name. Inspired by the finesse of the 40s, the Lunar Classic celebrates this ageless symbol of time in style. Housed in an elegantly sized 36m case, the watch features a dial rich in contrast, with a circularly brushed centre element set against the sandblasted moonphase and chapter ring. Offered in multiple colour combinations, the Lunar Classic is powered by a Swiss-made Selita movement.
No-nonsense diver at 38mm
Named after the river that traces its way through the state of New York, the Huson is, at its core, a diver watch series with a clear vintage slant. Sized at 38mm, the timepieces showcase dials with sandblasted textures (or sunray finish on select models) and super-grippy bezels with a distinct utilitarian edge. For those always on the move, the Hudson lineup also includes GMT versions, all powered by Swiss automatic calibres.
