Enhancing the Black Bay with yellow gold capping creates a version named S&G, for Steel & Gold. TUDOR derived the characteristic aesthetic elements of the Black Bay S&G model from its history. The overall shape, as well as the domed dial and crystal, come from the first TUDOR divers’ watches. In this version, the lines and proportions of the Black Bay are retained, while the rotating bezel and the winding crown are capped with yellow gold.
The dial keeps things unmistakably Black Bay with oversized markers and the iconic Snowflake hands, each coated with lume and featuring gilt outlining. These sit atop a matt black dial with matching golden script and a date aperture at 3 o’clock. Surrounding the fact is a rotating steel bezel with yellow goat coating and fitted with a black aluminium insert featuring gold 60-minute markings. The deep black and warm gold tones work to create an unmistakable upscale aesthetic.
With the Black Bay S&G references, TUDOR brings a sophisticated twist to its iconic tool watch family. These watches carry the familiar 41mm stainless steel case, complete with polished flanks and chamfered lugs. Positioned on the right side, the familiar oversized crown is capped with 0.3mm of yellow gold, just one of the several gold accents that define the S&G editions.

In prioritsing refined style when crafting these models, TUDOR hasn’t compromised on performance. The Black Bay S&G is driven by the brand’s in-house MT5612 movement, which boasts COSC certification, a bidirectional rotor, and an impressive 70-hour power reserve. Even with its refined looks, it’s every bit a tool watch, with 200m of water resistance at the ready.
The two-tone temptation
To further enhance the Black Bay S&G allure, TUDOR has designed a bracelet featuring solid gold centre links at 6 and 12 o’clock. For continuity, the remaining central links are also clad in a 0.2mm yellow gold cap. The luxurious S&G treatment now extends to select models across various Black Bay subcollections, including the Black Bay One and Black Bay GMT.
