Tudor Pelagos FXD

Tudor Pelagos FXD

The Pelagos FXD model, where FXD refers to the extra robust fixed strap bars of the case, was developed in conjunction with the French Navy's combat swimmers. Waterproof to 200m (660 ft), it was designed for underwater navigation and is optimised for professional use. Also in the range is a model that pays tribute to the decades of TUDOR watches on the wrists of US Navy divers. Complete with fixed strap bars, a titanium case, a high-performance Manufacture Calibre and a unidirectional elapsed-time rotating bezel, it comes as the ultimate modern “Milsub” (short for Military Submariner) of yesteryear. Visually in line with a late '60s-era TUDOR Oyster Prince Submariner, it incorporates elements from the US military specifications for diving watches. In short, the FXD range is the product of TUDOR’s cooperation with two military organisations.

Tudor Pelagos FXD

Built to be seen

The dial remains faithful to Pelagos design codes, showcasing oversized white square markers and a Snowflake handset that stand out vividly against the dark background. All the key details are coated with lume, ensuring this tactical watch shines with confidence in low-light conditions. A titanium count-down bezel frames the watch, boasting a ceramic insert with white 60-minute markings that match the dial’s accents.

Designed as a contemporary military-grade diver, the Pelagos FXD available at Time+Tide proves both highly capable and undeniably appealing. Its black-on-black aesthetic pays tribute to the mid-century divers worn by the U.S. Navy’s UDT units. Further reinforcing its mission-ready lineage, TUDOR ships the watch with a military-inspired forest-green strap with red stitching. Featuring a 42mm case made of titanium and a 12.75 mm profile, the Pelagos FXD also sports a side crown made from the same material and the TUDOR shield in relief.

A watch that is mission-ready

At the core of the Pelagos FXD lies TUDOR’s MT5602 automatic movement: a COSC-certified chronometer, as marked on the dial. It packs a 70-hour power reserve and features a silicon balance spring to ensure resistance to magnetic fields. Shielding the movement is a plain steel caseback, intentionally left unadorned to highlight its functional mission-ready nature. With 200m of water resistance in tow, this is a diver designed to perform when it matters most.

The Pelagos on the move

The Pelagos FXD lineup also includes standout references like the Pelagos FXD GMT, also dubbed "Zulu time" because it can track Zulu time, as well as the local hour and a third time zone. This model trades the classic bezel for a 24-hour bidirectional alternative, complete with a ceramic insert and cream markings, while maintaining the robust 42mm titanium case. The square hour markers and Snowflake handset are rendered in the same colour for a uniform look. Driving the watch is the MT5652-U calibre, carrying both COSC and METAS certifications and delivering a 65-hour power reserve.
