A triumph of collective vision

The Art 01 by Alto is the result of a remarkable fusion of talents, with creative minds from across disciplines joining forces to shape its distinctive identity. Its 41mm angular, same-faceted titanium case draws inspiration from the wedge design of 1970s concept cards, delivering a look that is unapologetically futuristic. Offered in multiple versions, including with DLC coating in Grey or Black, the Art 01 captures the spirit of innovation and artistry in every detail.

Pushing the boundaries of watchmaking innovation, Alto, short for “Art and Limited Time Objects,” has introduced a sapphire crystal unlike any other with its Art 01 collection. Featuring a domed exterior and an inner hemispherical surface, it’s a true innovation that required more than 300 hours of craftsmanship. The crystal doesn’t just protect; it frames the watch’s geometric form in a way that is visually striking.

Light as the ultimate muse

As the central part of Art 01, the dial is inspired by the enduring beauty of Greek art and architecture and celebrates light as the muse behind centuries of creativity. Crafted from brass and brought to life with bead-blasted, black-coated hexagonal lines, the dial further accentuates the watch’s sculptural presence. Stripped to essentials, it features just three faceted hands treated with Super-LumiNova.

A movement worth watching

At the core of the Art 01 collection lies the Cal. A.01 movement, designed by Alto collaborator Barth Nussbaumer and manufactured by Le Cercle des Horlogers. Fully visible through the transparent caseback, this micro-rotor calibre beats at 4Hz and offers a reliable 48-hour power reserve. In a playful twist meant to challenge perceptions, the second hand moves in reverse. Each piece is paired with a comfortable rubber strap for comfort and style.
